A methaphor is a figure of speech where a word or phrase is used to campare one thing to another. Compared to analogy and simile you do not use the word as and like.
A metaphor says the item is the thing being compared.
Examples:
She is like the sunshine. (a simile)
She is the sunshine. (a metaphor)
